me just being nosy.

Today, I just happened to come across some random people talking to each other. From what I gathered, their conversation went something like this:

Person 1: “Hey, wow! You have a ___!!”

Person 2: “Oh no, it’s nothing. But hey, you have a new __!!”

And then, out of nowhere, I found myself ranting:

Me: “Oh, wow! Why does it seem like every time I see you two, you’re just checking out each other’s new stuff and constantly saying, ‘Wow, wow, wow’?”

I mean, seriously? Is it really necessary to constantly impress each other with new things? I know people are different, but I can’t help but feel a little pity for those whose only focus seems to be impressing others. Maybe I’m just tired of people who revolve their lives around keeping up with what’s ‘in’ at the moment just so they can say they belong.

Sometimes, I wonder—what do they really get from it? Does it bring them genuine happiness, contentment, or even a sense of success?

It was just a random thought, of course—an honest and personal opinion.
